Ever wondered how high speed trains are powered, or the grid is kept stable across thousands of miles of track? This Career Simulation will introduce you to how that all works by providing you with behind the scenes insight into electrical engineering at Network Rail. Whether you want an apprenticeship or a degree, see how engineering can be your ticket to a high powered career in one of Britain's biggest industries.

What's included

This Career Simulation won’t just be us explaining electrical engineering to you: you’ll be getting stuck in with quizzes and engaging in a task to use your problem solving skills on a power upgrade project! You’ll learn how to look at relevant data and equipment specs to make sure stations can handle a brand new fleet of high speed electric trains. Once you’ve finished, you’ll get a certificate for your CV and LinkedIn to show employers that you’re ready to be a future engineering expert.

Can I apply to multiple experiences?

Yes, you can sign up for multiple experiences on Springpod. All of your experiences are available on demand, and your progress is saved automatically so you can pick up where you left off at any time via your dashboard.

Who can take part in the programme?

Some of our experiences have age and location requirements. Age requirements are to ensure the content is age-appropriate, while location requirements are stipulated by the partnering organisations themselves, and not defined by Springpod. All entry requirements can be found on the experience page.

How long does it take for assignments to be reviewed?

Assignments can take up to a week or longer to be reviewed and marked as complete. Once your experience has been marked as complete, your certificate will be generated.

What do I do if I upload the wrong file?

If you make a mistake when uploading a file, please email hello@springpod.com with the correct file. We can make a note on our system, and this will not affect the outcome of your experience.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion for all of our experiences. For further information on certificates, including how to access and share with employers, head to ‘My achievements’.

How can I delete my account?

To delete your account, head to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Delete account’. Simply click the ‘Request delete’ button to request your account deletion from our support team. We’ll be sorry to see you go!
